Paris, France: Notre Dame De Paris
One of the highlights of our Euro trip was when we went to Paris. And when you’re in Paris, aside from seeing the Eiffel Tower in person, this is also one of the places you wouldn’t want to miss – the Notre-Dame De Paris, also known as the Notre-Dame Cathedral.
The first thing that comes to my mind everytime I hear the words “Notre Dame” is Disney, specifically The Hunchback. To be honest, when I was a kid, it was one of my least favorite Disney films because people were cruel and judgmental, treatments were based on the physical appearances of a person and girls were used like things as if each of them can be bought even on the streets. Back then, I also literally had no idea that this cartoon is located where the famous Eiffel Tower is – in Paris. And guess what? I also didn’t even know that the Notre-Dame exists in real life! Yeah, but those were the days. *wink*
So here’s a little fact about it, for those who didn’t know. Notre-Dame is a medieval Catholic cathedral on the Île de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement of Paris, France. The cathedral is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture, and is among the largest and most well-known church buildings in the world. The naturalism of its sculptures and stained glass are in contrast with earlier Romanesque architecture. Or to keep long things short, it is the world famous church built 8 centuries ago!! How cool is that?
So yeah, let’s end the blah and I’ll let the photos below do the talking. 🙂
Photo above was the Notre-Dame De Paris, taken from an angle where the bridge is, then below was its front view. Obviously, as you can see, there’s a lot of tourists around probably because of the Christmas season which means no work, no school and it’s time to explore the world! 😉
It took us hours falling in line for that chance to see the beauty inside. And as we get closer and closer, you’ll appreciate its beauty even more. Just look at all the details!
I honestly couldn’t understand what it says, but if you can translate it for me in english, that would be nice.
Moving on, let’s take a look on what’s inside. 🙂
Papahuli pa ba ako? Of course I should have a photo of myself taken inside. 🙂
Art is everywhere, even on the windows.
They also have a diorama of their life in the past and a miniature of the Notre Dame De Paris. All smiles, the details are amusing!
There’s so much to see inside and the photos aren’t even enough to show its beauty. To my amusement, I found myself buying a souvenir token of this place worth 10 euros. Kinda expensive for me, but its cuteness is worth it! 🙂
If I would be given a chance to go back, I’d surely pack my things right away! This is even just a teenee bit of Paris and I haven’t seen everything yet, but my heart is already captured.
