Restaurant Review: Fifteen Twenty One – Bonifacio Global City

I was with my sister’s friends one night after work, around 8:30 pm. We were hungry and decided to roam around to find a place to eat. Since we’ve already tried most of the restaurants near their office in BGC, they’ve decided to have dinner somewhere we haven’t tried yet. So we came across this restaurant called Fifteen Twenty One.

First thing I noticed was the logo. It’s a cup with a fork on one side and a spoon on the other side. But if you look closer, it’s actually the numeric figure of the resto name, 1521. Cool! I presume it is named after one of the most important years in the Philippine history where Ferdinand Magellan discovered the Philippines.

One side of their a la carte menu.

The dishes names are witty, funny and obviously thought of. It’s so cool and very Filipino. It took us time to order laughing at every dish name we read. I even forgot to take a picture of the other side of the menu coz it’s funnier.

Practicing my photography skills while waiting for our order using my cellphone camera.

The food came 30-40 minutes after and it was a bit pricey for the serving that’s smaller than what we were expecting.

What we’ve ordered:

I literally laughed when I saw the fish. The fish meat looked like wings that if you don’t grab it, it’ll fly away from you just so you can’t eat it. hahaha!

Anyway, back to the review, the servers are nice in recommendations and stuffs. They are friendly and accommodating too. But the food isn’t really super amazing like super! It haven’t reached the level of my expectation. The crews over-promised an awesome dish but failed to deliver the same. I was expecting too much because of their description and the reviews that most diners said about this resto. However, food still tastes great. Not just the awesome kind of my expectation. A high level of expectation hurts when under-delivered, right?

So if you are looking for some Filipino dishes with a twist, you can try dining at Fifteen Twenty One. Nothing really special but the dishes’ witty names, their vintage Filipino-themed ambiance and attentive crew.

Will I go back? I wouldn’t mind going back, I’d definitely try what I haven’t tried yet next time.

Fifteen Twenty One is located at Ground Floor, Forbes Town Center, Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City
